Leh Ladakh Tour

The Tour Itinerary:
Day01: Delhi-Arrive at Delhi airport our representative will meet you and transfer to respective hotel. Evening free at leisure or visit India Gate/ Parliament House. Overnight at Hotel
Day 2:New Delhi – Leh by air
Early this morning after a quick cup of tea/coffee you will be taken to the airport for your flight to Leh. This one-hour flight from the Indian capital to Ladakh’s capital will be something that you might remember for the rest of your life. Assistance on arrival and transferred to your hotel. There will be no activity on your first day of arrival as it is recommend for tourists to relax and undergo minimal exertion to enable them to get acclimatized to rarefied oxygen level in this high-altitude region ensconced in the high Himalayan plateau. Day 3: Leh – Tour of Thiksey, Hemis Monastery and Shey Palace
Morning visit to Thiksey Monastery, for the prayer ceremony located on a hill-lock followed by a visit to Shey Palace the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh followed with a drive to visit Hemis Monastery situated 45 kilometers west of Leh; en route a photo stop of Stakna monestry. Hemis is the largest and the wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. From Hemis, you are driven back taking the same route to Shey palace.

If you are attending the early Morning Prayer ceremony, then we can return to Leh for a hot lunch, Lunch at one of the finest restaurant in Ladakh Tibetan Kitchen. Overnight at the hotel in Leh
Optional: To attend the prayer ceremony at Thiksey monastery performed in the assembly hall starting at 0530hrs followed with a pack breakfast.
Day 4: Leh – Kyagar (3152 meters) via Khardong la (5570 meters) –Distance 144 kilometers; Average driving time 4 to 5 hours
Morning we depart towards Northwards across the Khardong La the highest motorable road in the world, after a brief halt at the pass, we continue our drive to a different landscape. We arrive at the village of Kyagar in Nubra Valley, check-in to the family run fixed tented camp. Afternoon we drive or walk up to visit Samstanling Monastery.

Day 5: Kyagar – Deskit - Hundar on Double Hump Camel – Leh
Optional: Camel Safari on a double humped bactarian camel for ½ hour on the sand dunes in deskit After early breakfast we drive to Hundar village, this is the most amazing drive along the sand dunes and the Shyok River, which are very rare to see a combination of a river and the sand dunes. Upon arrival at Hundar, we visit the Double Hump Camel Breeding Center. This camel is the principal animal of inner Asia used especially on the Northern part of the route beyond Karakoram Pass. We then drive to Deskit village, which is the largest village in Nubra Valley. It is also the headquarters of the present administrative setup of Nubra valley. We also visit the Deskit Monastery, which is situated on a hilltop and offers a grand view of the Nubra Valley towards the North. We then drive downhill to visit the Deskit Village followed by hot lunch. Later in the afternoon, we drive back to Kyagar.

Day 6: Depart Leh to Uleytokpo camp via Basgo palace, Likir monastery, Alchi and Rizong Nunnary

Optional: River Rafting on River Zanskar can be organized for half a day and then the guests can drive ahead to Alchi. After breakfast, we depart for Alchi, en route visit Basgo monastery, situated on hilltop along the Srinagar highway; we pass through Spituk monastery, which will be visited on our return. Basgo monastery is among the endangered sites of
World monument fund, built of mud brick and rammed earth, during the 16th and 17th century A.D. The fortress has three temples, erected in celebration of Great Maitreya (The fifth Buddha). The largest of all statues is the 14-meter high gilded earthen statue of the Maitreya Buddha, surrounded by murals depicting scenes from his life and portraits of the patrons who underwrote the construction of the temple complex. After that, we continue our drive to visit Likir monastery followed with the drive to Alchi and visit the world’s famous monastery built in the 11th century. Alchi monastery is very different from the rest as it has a fusion of Tibetan and Kashmiri Art.
We then drive to Uleytokpo Camp for Lunch, afternoon at leisure, late in the afternoon we are driven to visit Ridzong Nunnery; the only nunnery in Ladakh also known as Chomoling, after that we then drive uphill to visit Ridzong monastery beautifully situated in a gorge.
We then return to our camp. Overnight at the Uleytokpo camp
Day 7: Uleytokpo to Lamayuru to LehAfter breakfast, we will drive on Srinagar-Leh highway and then continue to drive to Lamayuru. Upon arrival, we will visit the Lamayuru Monastery followed by a brief visit to Lamayuru village situated on a foot of the Monastery
Lamayuru Monastery, founded in 11th century perched on a spur high above the valley bottom just off the main road, it is one of the most spectacularly picturesque monastery in central Ladakh and is believed to be the oldest in central Ladakh and to have been the holy place of the Bon-chos the advent of Buddhism. We then return to Leh taking the same Srinagar-Leh highway to our Uleytokpo camp.

Day 8: Leh – Pangong Lake Today you will be woken up early, we will carry our picnic lunch to continue our drive to Pangong Lake, is the largest and an extraordinary lake situated at an altitude of 4300 meters, it is reached after crossing the Chang la pass (5320 meters) and driving along the dusty track. The lake is surrounded by snowy mountains mirrored in its crystalline waters shimmering in an amazing range of blues and greens. On arrival, we will spend some time in order to allow you explore the lake and to click as many photographs to carry back home the memories.
We will then drive back early to reach Leh before the sunset. Overnight stay.
Day 9: Leh – New Delhi by air Today you will be woken up early in the morning, after a hot cup of tea/coffee you will be driven to the airport to connect your flight to New Delhi, this will be your last opportunity catch the spectacular view of the Himalayan ranges. On arrival at delhi airport transfer to hotel. Evening half day local sightseeing. Overnight stay.
Day10: New Delhi After breakfast check-out from the hotel and transfer to Airport to connect flight to your native destination.
